As a new Ambassador, you'll be in contact with the ambassador manager, head of community & community manager (if he exists in your market) responsible for getting you onboarded and productive in our community. We do this for two reasons:
- To help set Ambassadors up for success.
- To synchronise team members for collaborative & impactful work.
Expectations
Mentee
- Show up - The primary expectation for you initially is just to be here ready to work. You were accepted into the Nymja Program because we believe in your long-term ability to be an impactful member.
- Ask questions - Ambassadors struggle mainly because they're not asking enough questions. The purpose of the onboarding mentorship program is to reduce the barrier here and make sure you know exactly who to go with if you're stuck.
Mentor
- Be available - Your job is the be eager and ready to help your mentee get started. Occasionally this will mean putting your work with the community on hold to focus on problem-solving with your mentee.
- Be patient - Remember to be patient with your new A-teammate as they learn the ropes. Investing our time in ramping them up now will pay dividends in the long run!
Touchpoints
Here are a few specific ways you should interact with your onboarding mentor
- Onboarding meeting - Your mentor will reach out to schedule an onboarding session during your first week as a Nymja.
- Task Reviews - In the first month you should send your task for an internal review.
- Check-in meetings - You are encouraged to meet regularly to review progress, ask questions, and share ideas and feedback. We find this most successful when scheduled as a recurring meeting, but we encourage you to meet as issues arise.
Measuring success
There are a few specific milestones your onboarding mentor will be working with you to achieve:
- Completing all tasks.
- Getting familiar with Nym, our products, team & audiences.
Success here is a two-way street. You are expected to work towards achieving these milestones, but your onboarding mentor is responsible for helping you get there.
